Spotted teeth are cosmetically undesirable.
Spotted teeth are usually the result of half-finished cavities. These leave areas on teeth more porous than normal, making them susceptible to discolouration.
If the teeth are spotted as soon as they emerge, poor mineralisation or dental fluorosis may be to blame.
